EDI connection error encountered when running eligibility

An Electronic Data Interchange (or EDI for short) connection is what enables payers- and by extension, you- to check patient eligibility electronically. Rivet uses these payer EDI connections to allow you to do the same while never leaving the Rivet screen. While checking patient eligibility in Rivet, you might see the following error:

 This error message may be a result of one of two things. Have you ever been able to verify eligibility electronically for this payer before? If the answer is:

  • No- this means that the payer does not have an EDI connection set up whatsoever. Since there is no EDI connection to make use of, Rivet cannot run electronic eligibility for that specific payer.

  • Yes- that means the EDI connection has not yet been assigned by a Rivateer. Just chat in and we'll get the issue taken care of!

Is there a way to double check?

You can always chat with our support team to see if there is an EDI connection that can be used for that specific payer. There are instances where even though Rivet may not state there is a connection, we may be able to set one up.
