Views are customized filtered views that users can create for quick access to specific information. Creating a view involves selecting filter criteria, giving the view a name, and saving it. Views can be edited by updating the filter criteria and choosing to either revert or update the original view. Note that views are user-specific but can be shared to all users on the account.
1. What to expect
Views you create or edit will appear for all users on an account.
Favoriting is a user-specific action and will move the view to the top of your list of views.
Views can only be created for new sets of filters. In other words, if you already have a view created for a specific set of filters, you won't be able to create a duplicate view. You can always edit the filtered criteria in your original view.
Rivet will often start you off with default views like "All."
2. Saving a view
Select the filter criteria you would like to include in your new view.
Click on the "Save current view" button, name your new view, and save it. Quick Tip: Give your views names that remind you of the filters they contain.
Rivet has three saved view settings.
Private: Only visible to you.
Public: Visible to everyone
Shared: Only visible to those with access
Click save once you are done.
Click on your saved view at any time to quickly pull up filtered results.
3. Editing a view
If you click into a view and then update your filter criteria, you will have the option to either Revert or Update your view.
Clicking "Revert" will remove your new filter criteria and return you to your original filtered view.
Clicking "Update" will save your original view with your new filter criteria.
4. Shared view
Users who had the view shared with them will see the view on their own Shared view section of the application.
Users with whom the view is shared is able to edit and delete the view.
